It’s that time again – SL#47.

Hello again and welcome to what will be the penultimate post in this series regarding my 2014 trip to Sri Lanka which, after three months travelling and a couple of months plus to write about, has taken on a life of it’s own. I am sure this will come as a blesséd relief to many of my long-suffering readers who have slogged their way through 47 rather lengthy pieces and, yes, I am showing off with the accented e. As always I shall start with my usual advice that if you really have a masochistic streak you can start the whole story here.

Whatever way you have arrived here, you are welcome and while the trip was certainly winding down there was still a bit to see and do, I had not had enough of Sri Lanka just yet. If you want to find out all about it, please read on.

First beer(s) and a fine hotel – SL#2.

Hello there and welcome back to the second instalment of my latest series which is about a three month trip I took to Sri Lanka in early 2014 and I shall start off with my usual advice if you have just arrived at this post other than having read what went before. The whole story starts here or alternatively just go to the bottom of the page and hit the previous button.

In the last episode I had only got as far as Bandaranaike aiport near Colombo and said that I had a slight adventure. If you want to hear all about it then please read on.

New country, new adventure – SL #1.

Good day one and all and welcome to my latest little project which is not actually so little. The header image is a bit of a spoiler I suppose as you have probably guessed that this series is all about my first trip to Sri Lanka which lasted a full three months, the longest visa I could get without taking up residency. It lasted from 08/01/2014 – 08/04/2014 and was my introduction to a country I have come to know a little and love a lot. Since then I have had two more three-month trips there and would have been in Greater Colombo now (January 2021) if not for this virus nonsense.

Regular readers will know that my last project was a very short trip to Madrid in late November 2013 and that took me ages to write up so this is likely to take as long to write up as it did to travel. They will also know that I was debating between several long trips in Canada, UK and Europe that I wished to include here so why this particular one?

Read on and all will be revealed.
